Joyful Wedding at The Paseo Arizona with Epic Mountain Views

I’ve documented some amazing spaces as an Arizona wedding photographer. In my experience, people who choose to get married here love the desert. Like, really love it. That’s why The Paseo Arizona is such a dreamy wedding venue. You get the best of the desert with an elegant, intentionally designed indoor-outdoor venue. Sabrina and Dane’s wedding is a great example of how this space can be the perfect setting for a connection-oriented celebration.

A Wedding at The Paseo Arizona

The Paseo Arizona is a unique wedding venue. Its elevated architecture nods to the modern farmhouse aesthetic without fully falling into that category. If you want an indoor/outdoor venue that gives you the best of epic desert views and modern comfort, you’ll definitely want to check out The Paseo.

Ceremonies at The Paseo typically take place outdoors because the views are unbeatable. It’s ideal for an early evening ceremony. The Superstition Mountains tower behind the wedding arch. You normally have to hike for a view this good behind your vow exchange. There’s lots of land around where you can take portraits that highlight the landscape too.

The Paseo Arizona has a thoughtfully designed indoor space as well. The inviting building has floor to ceiling windows so you can take in the view from every angle. Guests enjoy eating and dancing in the airy space beneath strings of warm lights.

The venue offers desserts and servers. You bring in your own caterer for meals, though. It can be nice to have that kind of flexibility with a venue. You get the dreamiest views without compromising on the meal you want.

Cinematic Portraits and Candid Moments

When people ask me to describe my wedding photography style, I tell them I take three categories of photos. You can see all of them in this blog post. I really feel like Sabrina and Dane’s wedding gallery is a great example of how all three types of photos come together to tell the story of a wedding day.

First, I create cinematic photos. Arizona has incredible landscapes. I love incorporating those into couples portraits. You can see that in the photos of Sabrina and Dane posed with the Superstition Mountains behind them. The desert sunset added another layer of incredible color.

Next, I highlight marriers’ communities. The people I photograph tend to have strong friend groups and close family (whether they’re chosen or family of origin). People put so much work into designing days where they get to be with all their favorite people in one spot. Your photos should include those incredible moments of being present with your people. Laugh, hug, dance. I’ll document it all.

Lastly, I include candid photos in every wedding gallery. The word “candid” gets thrown around a lot these days. To me, “candid” means joyful, unscripted, raw emotion. You can see these photos in the portion of the gallery featuring Sabrina and Dane’s reception. They shared so many wholehearted hugs with family and friends. I loved preserving those moments.

A Warm Wedding Celebration in the Desert

Sabrina and Dane have such great vibes. I loved photographing their wedding at The Paseo Arizona. When I first spoke with them, we ended up on the call for an hour longer than we’d planned. We clicked in a way that made my job so fun.

Given how wonderful Sabrina and Dane are, I wasn’t surprised that they surround themselves with the warmest, kindest people. They’re very connected to their friends and family. That made their wedding day all the more amazing.

At the reception, love surrounded them. Their wedding party showed up in every way possible. Sabrina’s sister gave a moving toast, and their parents were so welcoming of one another. I feel so lucky that I got to be part of such a moving wedding!

learn more about how I do this

With a background in filmmaking, my job is to approach your wedding like I would a film – balancing between the director and a fly-on-the-wall approach. My primary focus is on documenting all of the emotions in the room, that way in the end you get photos that reflect how the day felt, and not just what your shoes looked like.
