Madison and Nick’s downtown Phoenix courthouse wedding was THE most chic day from start to finish. It flawlessly showcased the couple’s one-of-a-kind style while also celebrating what makes Arizona so extraordinary: its diverse and breathtaking scenery. And yes that includes the city-scape too!
So when Madison and Nick told me they wanted metropolitan-chic photos to complement their ceremony, I knew EXACTLY how to bring their vision to life. With over a decade of experience capturing weddings across the state, I’m here to help YOU capture the exact vibe you want for your special day. Whether that’s a “classic” Arizona style or something entirely different, you can count on me to make your dream photos a reality!
At-Home Comforts
Before we headed to Madison and Nick’s downtown Phoenix ceremony, they wanted to capture some moments of getting ready and sharing their first look at home. As a photographer who’s all about personalizing each couple’s experience, I was already looking forward to taking these extra special photos for them. But when I walked into their stunning Southwestern-indie style home, I was even MORE excited.
It was an incredibly beautiful and wonderfully personal setting for capturing those pre-ceremony moments. Madison and Nick were glowing in front of the camera, and it was so special to photograph them in a space they put so much love and effort into creating together. And we can’t forget about Hank, their adorable (and huge!) Great Dane, who they wanted pictures with more than anything. Taking these photos at their house made it super easy to include him in their day and was a win-win for everyone involved.
The whole vibe was so uniquely THEM, setting the stage perfectly for the start of their unforgettable day.
Big City Romance
After we wrapped up at Madison and Nick’s house, we headed into Phoenix for the main event! But before we made our way into the courthouse, I took them to my go-to spots in downtown Phoenix to capture the cosmopolitan photos they were envisioning. Using the stunning architecture and vibrant city energy as their backdrop, I snapped photos as sophisticated and fun as the couple themselves.
We even swung by Wren and Wolf, their favorite date spot, to bring their love story full circle. The cozy couches, soft lighting, and romantic vibe were just perfect for capturing the couple’s unique style and deep affection for each other. It was another sweet nod to their journey together and a perfect moment for them to connect before they say “I do” – all wrapped up in one lovely experience!
Downtown Courthouse Ceremony
When it was time for Madison and Nick’s ceremony, we made our way to the courthouse. The art deco vibes of the building perfectly matched their vision for the day, and I took advantage of every cool detail – from the bronze elevators, to the ornate front doors, and even the elegant spiral staircase.
With their nearest and dearest gathered (including the officiating Judge, who happened to be a family friend!), the cozy ceremony began. Even though the guest list was small, the room was bursting with love and support. As a photographer who’s all about community, I absolutely loved capturing the genuine reactions of their loved ones throughout the ceremony.
The couple finished off their day with a rooftop sunset at one of my favorite locations in downtown Phoenix. As if the day couldn’t get any more chic, they popped open a bottle of champagne that Madison bought in Paris and rode off into the sunset in a decorated convertible. The entire day was so uniquely THEM and it was so much fun to capture their story against a less conventional (but just as beautiful!) Arizona scene.
Madison and Nick’s downtown Phoenix Courthouse wedding was an absolute blast! It was such a wonderfully personalized day, reflecting their personality and elegant style at every turn. It was such an honor to capture every single moment of the celebration, and I wish them nothing but the best!
