Jordyn and James’ Heartfelt Wedding in Mesa was such a special day. The way the couple blended their communities and cultures was absolutely perfect—honoring their roots while embracing their journey ahead. Every moment was packed with meaningful touches, made even more special by how involved their friends and family were. As community-first photographer who’s all about couples incorporating what makes them unique into their big day, this wedding was definitely one I’ll remember for a long time!
Love and Faith Unite
One of my favorite parts of Jordyn and James’ wedding was how the couple went above and beyond to celebrate their faith, something that’s very important to them. They had a traditional Catholic ceremony at Christ the King, a stunning Catholic Church in Mesa. This location is not only full of spiritual meaning, but also incredibly stunning with its amazing architecture, vaulted ceilings, and breathtaking stained glass windows.
During their ceremony, they included a [rosary unity ritual](https://www.theknot.com/content/lasso-wedding-ceremony,)—a unique way to symbolize their lives becoming one in marriage and faith. They also finished their ceremony by offering flowers to a statue of Mary, a special Catholic tradition where couples ask for extra blessings on their marriage.
Every special element added so much depth and meaning to their day. You could really feel the love and connection between them during these moments, and it shines through in every photo!
Blending Communities and Cultures
But it wasn’t just their inclusion of faith that made the day special. Jordyn and James also made sure to involve and blend their friends and family at every turn! As a photographer who prioritizes capturing those special community connections, I couldn’t get enough of the unity and love among this group.
James’ brother, who’s a priest, presided over the ceremony and even walked down the aisle with James. This made the ceremony extra special, especially since James’ sisters were also part of it as choir members! When it was time for communion, both Jordyn and James’ family members brought the gifts to the altar, adding another meaningful touch.
And let me tell you, when it was time to bring that same love and energy to the reception, this group was READY! From the sweet and hilarious toasts to the touching father/daughter and mother/son dances, and the unstoppable energy on the dance floor, it was a celebration to remember. Jordyn and James also rocked mwarmwars, a sweet nod to the blending of their cultures and families together, and adding even more beauty to these photos. The whole day was filled with heart and meaning, and I had an absolute blast capturing every special moment!
A Reception to Remember at Villa Siena
Speaking of the reception, the couple chose the stunning Villa Siena. It’s one of my favorite venues in the area, modeled after the charming town square in Siena. With carved stone columns, vaulted ceilings, iron gates, and elegant decor, every corner is full of unique character. Not only does it offer endless photo backdrops, but the versatile spaces on the property can accommodate any vision you have—whether that’s indoor, outdoor, or a mix of both!
After making the most of the gorgeous gardens and old-world architecture for their portraits, Jordyn and James opted for an indoor reception in the Grand Firenze. This elegant ballroom features crystal chandeliers, custom lighting, a sprawling dance floor, and room for up to 250 guests. The couple added their own special touches to personalize the space, including gorgeous blush flowers, elegant gold centerpieces, and dozens of romantic candles. It was a perfect setting for their celebration as they danced the night away!
