Sweet Wedding at the Lush Creekside Inn Sedona

Do you love the idea of a Sedona wedding but dislike the crowds around the touristy areas? Check out the Creekside Inn Sedona! This wedding venue is situated on a quiet plot of land beside a creek. Shady trees and beautiful architecture set the stage for a joyful wedding day for Danielle and Elizabeth.

The Beautiful Creekside Inn Sedona

The Creekside Inn Sedona is an award-winning bed and breakfast. The architecture blends beautifully into the surrounding forest. Stone and woodwork give you the sense of bringing the stunning outdoors inside with you. The rooms are beautifully decorated in neutral palettes that feel right at home in Arizona.

As pretty as the interiors are, the grounds are the best part of the Creekside Inn. Ceremonies and receptions take place outdoors on the various lawns. The two acres of land include landscaped lawns with a gazebo and spacious porch. Trees and bushes near the creek make the space feel wild and whimsical – perfect for a wedding.

The Creekside Inn Sedona is located just off Route 179 along Oak Creek. It’s centrally located but outside the main hustle and bustle of the city. Sedona can be kind of intense when there are a lot of tourists. The Creekside Inn feels so secluded in contrast. There’s way more water and greenery without the traffic and tourist shops. It’s more peaceful than the rest of the city. That alone makes it appealing.

A Connection-Centered Wedding Day

Elizabeth and Danielle’s wedding at the Creekside Inn Sedona was my favorite kind of celebration to document. The Flagstaff couple put a lot of thought into their day. Family and community came first in every decision. Since Danielle had two kids from her previous marriage, they did a great job of bringing the kids into the day’s events and showing them how important they are.

Since they’re very outdoorsy people, Elizabeth and Danielle spend a lot of time camping around Sedona. They knew it was the perfect place for them to hold their wedding. Booking the Creekside Inn Sedona allowed everyone to stay together and spend as much time as possible in each other’s company.

That ended up being important because a lot of family showed up in a big way on Elizabeth and Danielle’s wedding day. They wanted to make Danielle and Elizabeth feel seen and supported every step of the way.

As much as Danielle and Elizabeth focused on community, they took time to be together one on one. They exchanged private vows by the creek. It gave them a chance to be vulnerable together and soak in the moment. Their first look and vow exchange are some of the sweetest that I’ve photographed!

Wedding Photos that Feel Like Movie Stills

At the Creekside Inn Sedona, Elizabeth and Danielle created a beautiful experience for their loved ones. I focused on preserving that emotion in authentic, emotional photos. Their focus on community and connection suited my photography style, a combination of gently posed and candid images. These photos give you a sense of how the day really felt.

I absolutely loved documenting Danielle and Elizabeth’s wedding. Not only did I get to bear witness to the beautiful relationships in their lives, but they also became my friends. Now I stay with them whenever I’m in Flagstaff to photograph a wedding. How lucky am I?

learn more about how I do this

With a background in filmmaking, my job is to approach your wedding like I would a film – balancing between the director and a fly-on-the-wall approach. My primary focus is on documenting all of the emotions in the room, that way in the end you get photos that reflect how the day felt, and not just what your shoes looked like.
