Katy and Cameron’s wedding at Alcantara Vineyard & Winery is one of those galleries I keep going back to. Not only was the venue and vineyard setting absolutely stunning, but every part of their day felt intentional and true to who they are. From the sweeping Arizona wine country views to the personal details woven throughout the day to the way their community showed up and felt every moment alongside them, it was the kind of day that stays with you as a photographer.
A Vineyard Setting in the Heart of Arizona Wine Country
Wanting an elegant, Tuscan feel for their wedding, Katy and Cameron chose Alcantara Vineyard & Winery just south of Sedona in Cottonwood, in the heart of Arizona wine country. The family-owned, sustainably farmed vineyard sits where the Verde River meets Oak Creek, surrounded by rolling hills and wide open views.
Beyond the gorgeous setting, the property offered both indoor and outdoor spaces that helped the day flow seamlessly.
Their ceremony took place inside the open air chapel overlooking the vineyards, creating a romantic and intimate setting. Afterward, we moved through the vineyards and up to the hilltop for portraits, even catching a rainbow along the way. The reception continued on the lawn under a tent, with hills stretching in every direction as the party carried on into the night.
The venue’s setup made the day feel easy, offering variety without ever pulling the couple too far from the celebration.
Meaningful Details Woven Throughout the Day
It wasn’t just the setting that made the day special. Katy and Cameron wove thoughtful, personal details throughout the celebration that made it fully their own.
They centered their community in intentional ways, starting with displaying framed photos of family weddings to honor their loved ones. Katy walked down the aisle to music from The Sound of Music, her favorite movie and one that reminds her of her grandmother. Later during the reception, she dedicated her bouquet to her mom, Linda, a deeply emotional moment shared with everyone in the room.
They brought that same thoughtfulness into the design, choosing sun-warmed garden neutrals that complemented the vineyard backdrop across the florals, décor, and even the glassware.
As a community-first photographer, it was amazing to document a celebration that centered what matters most to them. You can feel that energy in every image.
Centered on Candid, Connected Moments
From the beginning, Katy and Cameron told me they wanted their wedding documented in a way that felt natural and true to the experience. They cared most about candid moments and real emotion.
And there was plenty of it. The quiet anticipation before their first look. The happy tears during their vow exchange. The joy once they were officially married and rang the chapel bell together. But that emotion didn’t stop with them. Their community felt everything right alongside them, adding to the story and depth of their day.
Those moments, whether they hold joy, nerves, or pure excitement, are what make a wedding day what it is. My role is to document those moments as they unfold, so years from now, couples can look back and not just see what happened, but step right back into how it felt.
Katy and Cameron’s wedding at Alcantara Vineyard & Winery was joyful and deeply personal. Every part of the day reflected what mattered most to them, and you could feel that in every interaction.
It was a beautiful day, and it was truly an honor to be part of it, documenting every candid moment and authentically preserving how they felt from beginning to end.
